Performing for Positivity (P4P) is a New Jersey–registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering young people through the arts while advocating for greater awareness of youth mental health. Rooted in the belief that “to perform is to heal,” P4P provides a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where young performers can express themselves creatively in the ways that feel most authentic to them. While the organization is grounded in performance, its mission extends far beyond the stage. P4P seeks to inspire today’s youth to pursue their passions in any form, fostering confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
At its core, Performing for Positivity recognizes the growing mental health challenges facing young people and strives to use the power of performance as a meaningful outlet for expression, healing, and communication. By creating opportunities for performers to share their voices, P4P builds a bridge between artists and audiences, encouraging open conversations about mental health and motivating individuals to seek help for themselves or support others in need.
Since becoming a federally recognized nonprofit in April 2024, P4P has already made a significant impact within its community, raising $22,000. Through its continued efforts, Performing for Positivity aims to expand its reach, amplify youth voices, and create lasting change by combining creativity, compassion, and community service.
